About Nyalarey

Nyala Thomas – creatively known as Nyalarey – has an MFA from Florida State University’s College of Motion Picture Arts with a concentration in Film Producing and interest in Cinematography. She has found cinema to offer the ultimate explorative outlet of human complexities, experiences and relationships. The isolating feeling of growing up in a nuclear family of Jamaican immigrants led Nyalarey to pursue stories relating to the human condition.   She explores interpersonal relationships and uses them as a mirror to gain deeper insights into her own identity. This commitment to authenticity seamlessly blends her creativity with a heartfelt love letter to the early 2000s media that nurtured her imagination. Her work is a journey through time, sealed with a kiss of nostalgia.
